Reclaiming Our Roots: Silkscreened Posters from the Movement

Starts May 23, 2015

(as part of Reclaiming Our Roots: APA Arts-Activism 1960s–NOW)

Curated by Leon Sun, the tradition of silkscreened posters as an instrument of protest comes alive, online. This process brought together visual artists of different disciplines through an affordable and easily accessible medium that helped combine art and resistance within the Bay Area's long history of protest and organized struggle. Because these posters weren't considered to be collector's items, many have been lost over time. With this online exhibit we hope to expand and preserve this collection for years to come.
