Diana Li

Diana Li is an artist who works in video, performance and installation. Her life and artwork are greatly influenced by her intergenerational and diasporic Chinese Peruvian American background and female identity. She graduated from UC San Diego in 2014 with a B.A. in Ethnic Studies and Visual Arts Media, and is currently pursuing an MFA at San Francisco Art Institute.

John Chris Lopez

John Chris Lopez is a writer, director, and filmmaker from San Francisco. He began his filmmaking career with short films and music videos and produced, wrote, and directed his first feature film in 2015.

HuiMeng Wang

Born and raised in Inner Mongolia of China, HuiMeng Wang studied Bio-medical Engineering at Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and later went to San Francisco Art Institute, where she received her MFA in Studio Art in 2016. HuiMeng uses a combination of installation, live performance, video and film to create a temporary and interactive theatre, exploring the issue of cultural identity in the context of modernization, among others. She now lives and works in San Francisco.

Araceli Tamayo-Lee

Araceli Tamayo-Lee’s grandparents and great-grandparents came to the West Coast from Laoag, Illocos Norte, in the Philippines and Toisan, Guangduong.The playgrounds of SFUSD, the youth mentors of her afterschool programs, and the radical movements for justice in the Bay Area have shaped her sense of power and dignity. She studied Political Economy and Media Arts at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. Her sun is in Cancer, her moon in Taurus; her Rising is Sagittarius.

Erina Alejo

Erina Alejo is an ethnographer who creates media and social situations that contextualize people's counternarratives. They work within social engagement, video, performance, installation and writing to enrich their storytelling as a genderqueer and second generation Pinay. Currently, Erina works in youth empowerment and advocacy at Southern Exposure, Galing Bata Afterschool Program and Pinay Educational Partnerships and is a fellow at Asian American Women Artist Association and Bay Area Video Coalition.

Featured Artist: Việt Lê

Việt Lê is an artist, curator and academic. Recent solo exhibitions include "lovebang!" (Kellogg University Art Gallery, Los Angeles 2016) and "vestige" (H Gallery Bangkok 2015). Lê has also presented his at The Banff Centre, Alberta; MIX Film Fest, New York; Entzaubert Film Fest, Berlin; Outfest, Los Angeles; Bangkok Art & Cultural Centre (BACC); and Rio Gay Film Festival, Rio de Janeiro. Lê co-curated "transPOP: Korea Việt Nam Remix" (Seoul, Saigon, Irvine, and San Francisco, 2008-09); the 2012 Kuandu Biennale (Kuandu Museum, Taipei, Taiwan) and co-directed the International Southeast Asian Film Festival (2015). He received his M.F.A. from the University of California, Irvine and his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California. He is Assistant Professor in Visual Studies at California College of the Arts.
