As a Queer Asian American poet, what fascinates Dan Lau most is the language we build our environment with, create our own context in which we make our home.
Echo/Transmission is an 8-week poetry workshop for Queer Asian American and Pacific Islander men and their allies which will focus on selected poetries that speak toward the idea of or broadens the understanding of a queer aesthetic. Through investigations of our contextualized environment, we will utilize how the different lenses of race, gender, and sexuality limit and permit our expression and craft the way we live our lives.
