Dumpling Wars 3: Game of Noms

Sunday, July 26

5:00-8:00 PM

Oakland Asian Cultural Center

(Map & Directions)

On July 26th, Kearny Street Workshop will commence its third annual tourney to determine culinary supremacy in all nine Bay Area counties. Who will have what it takes to ascend the Cast Iron Throne? Five teams of amateur chefs—House Public Enema ("The Buffet"), House HarbinMaxi ("Chive Pocket"), House Porkister ("Pulled Pork with Pickled Peaches"), House Boba Guys ("Cha Cha Bao"), and House Project by Project ("The Onion Knight")—will joust to the finish to serve up their finest dumpling creations to a discerning panel of judges:

   • Jonathan Sutton or Tony Ferrari* (Chefs/Owners, Hillside Supper Club)

   • Aileen Suzara (Food & Agriculture Editor, Hyphen Magazine)

   • Leland Wong (Winner, Dumpling Wars 2012 & 2014)

This year, we are also proud to present our first annual community award in recognition of outstanding contributions to food justice to:

   • Saqib Keval (Founder, People's Kitchen)

Citizens of the realm will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite gastronomic morsels, feast on a delicious spread graciously provided by local restaurateurs (Astig Vegan, Bowl'd BBQ, Irma's Pampanga, Le Colonial, Namit Gid Ah, Pampalasa, Pinkie's Bakery, Shan Dong, and more!), and enjoy family-friendly activities (DJ Slum B, The Andy Chou Foundation). Hosted by Mesej 1 (Oakland Grand Slam Champion)!

Tickets are now available– get yours today and save on door prices. This event is a fundraiser for Kearny Street Workshop.
