ABOUT THE ARTISTS

JOEY GUILA (Headliner) was a winner of the regional Kings Of Comedy competition performed on P. Diddy’s Bad Boys Of Comedy early in his career. Joey is the host of That’s My Jam and Myx Rated, which won a Telly award. His past guests have been Boyz II Men, Justin Bieber, Naughty By Nature, Amerie, Jason Derulo, Jabbawockeez, and many others. Joey has also been featured on VH1, G4 Tech TV, and Showtime. Currently, he is headlining The Filipino Kingz of Comedy Tour and hosts a new show called Gear Addix with co-host Keiko Alingas. joeyguila.com

AL S. MANALO (Host) is a Filipino American writer, director, producer, emcee, and stand-up comic who has performed in venues throughout 46 States and 3 countries. He is the former Artistic and Managing Director of Bindlestiff Studio, a San Francisco blackbox theater venue dedicated to the support and cultivation of Filipino Americans in the performing arts.

SHANTI CHARAN is a fast-rising fresh face in the Bay Area comedy scene. Her ability to formulate quick connections makes it easy for her to communicate with diverse audiences. She won 1st place in the 2011 Rooster T. Feather’s Comedy Competition and participated in the 2011 San Francisco International Comedy Competition where she advanced to the semi-finals. Charan was recently awarded SF Weekly’s 2012 Best Stand-Up on the Way Up. SF Weekly says Charan’s writing “is clever and confident beyond her years.” shanticharan.com

EDWIN LI began working as a comedian at the age of 16, barreling through five minute open-mic sets and hanging in the wings of the Punchline, picking the brains of any funnyman that would talk shop. His earnestness and shameless curiosity have made him a favorite with comedy veterans and club owners alike. Edwin is developing his half-hour set in preparation for a heavy tour schedule. His rambunctious new set is a portrait of the wild, untamed energy of an American young man. edwinlicomedy.com

JUSTIN LUCAS commenced his pursuit of stand-up comedy in March of 2011, and after several months of performing on open-mic nights, he began appearing at various popular Bay Area venues such as the San Francisco Punchline, Cobb's Comedy Club, and the San Jose Improv. He has opened for Mad TV’s Bobby Lee, Rex Navarrete and Alec Mapa. He was a finalist in the 2011 Battle of the Bay Comedy Competition, a semi-finalist in the 2012 Tommy T.’s Comedy Competition, and advanced to the semi-finals for the 37th annual San Francisco International Comedy Competition. His most recent achievement, however, was 1st runner-up in the 2013 Bay Area Black Comedy Competition. twitter.com/JustLucComedy

THE STANDARD DEVIANTS is a Bay Area jazz quartet. The current lineup was put together specifically for Feast of Funny by APAture planning committee member Oliver Mok (guitar) and also features Curtis Uejo (alto sax), Josh Austin (bass), and Dean Cook (drums). Their setlist will consist of songs by composers such as Thelonius Monk, Joe Henderson and Luis Bonfa.
